Central Staircase Renovation
The Central Staircase that runs down the bluff to the lake has been repaired. Our most ambitious project to-date, our goal was to renovate the steps to last another 90+ years. Parks-approved contractor Joseph Suszek straightened and leveled 106 steps, replacing three entirely, removed old railings and replaced 70 posts with rails and hardware. Enjoy!

Inspired by the FEMA clean up, we prepared the beach for summer fun.
Beach clean up March 2021
An impressive amount of driftwood was removed from the beach due to a FEMA grant given to Milwaukee eCounty. The pile will be carted way. Rest assured tepee builders, more wood will wash up! Look below to see the impact to the beach what we needed to do last year. We are most grateful.
After FEMA.
Beach Clean Up September 2020
Some of the driftwood was rather large!
We removed several truckloads of Driftwood from the beach
Many thanks to everyone who helped haul a huge amount of driftwood off the beach. It is now possible to get to the water’s edge without the danger of tripping over piles of driftwood. Enjoy all!
